A picture is worth a thousand words.
If a picture is worth a thousand words, what is a picture of a thousand words worth?
A thousand words is about three A4 pages and can contain a lot of information, but if that information was to be photographed would it be any easier to understand? I love that a photo can capture emotion; it can draw you in with colour (or lack of) and stir feelings inside.
As I approach my graduation and look back on the three years with friends and the times we had, there is more emotion there than I could ever write on this page. The pictures I have of this class are not just pictures, they are frozen emotions in time . . . they are HAPPINESS! In each of these photo’s whether it is of an individual or place, there is hidden moments of joy, sadness, happiness and empathy. I feel what they feel, I enjoy what they enjoy and I hurt when they hurt.
As I scroll through individual portraits I realise something, I could write a thousand words on every person around me. Everyone brings purpose, meaning and creates a worth, a worth that no amount of money could match. The pictures I have will serve as a constant reminder that life and love is bigger than me. It stretches far beyond my wildest imagination and yet it feels so intimate because of my constant reminders. Thanks for the memories!
