This is the giant ant that Zach found in his room last night.

First hordes of Huntsman spiders and now giant ants. Hopefully the next thing to come will be the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, because at the rate we’re discovering new insects, the TMNTs will be the only thing keeping us alive.

It’s heavily autotuned and is shaky in parts, but I’m uploading it anyway because if I keep singing this song to my computer any longer, Adam will go crazy.

If you listen closely at the end, you can hear chirping. I swear, those bird only chirp when I’m recording sound.

Bus vs. House!

So my bus crashed into a house this afternoon.

Unfortunately, I was listening to my iPhone and reading a book when it happened, so all I didn’t really see what had happened.

Apparently the bus wheels weren’t responding to the driver’s attempts to turn them, and we kept on rolling down the wet road until we hit the fence, which is about the time I started to notice that something was wrong.

I remember looking up and seeing lots of leaves through the windows. The next thing that caught my eye was the woman sitting across the aisle from me, flying into the air and crashing against the seat in front of her.

Now that I’m looking at the photos, I wish I’d thought to take a picture through the windscreen for a different perspective.

Thankfully no one was seriously hurt. The only injuries at the time of the crash were a grazed knee and a swollen lip, although I think my knees, elbows and back are going to be very sore in the morning.

Meh.

On Wednesday night last week, I got together with some friends to have a small farewell dinner for Josh, who was leaving our department to work somewhere in Orange. My Valentines Day tulips have bloomed! Aren’t they pretty? I’ve always thought that tulips are nicer than roses. At least, that’s been my opinion since a wise bogan once told me, “Roses are nice, but tulips are classy.”
